We are a non-profit organization dedicated to creating athletes who are passionate about personal growth through our sport. Our coaching staff is focused on a positive, internally-motivated teaching process that identifies and emphasizes the individual strengths of each of our athletes.

OUR STORY
Our Background & Philosophy
The South Coast Fencing Center is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 with the goal of providing an extraordinary training experience in a positive and focused learning environment. The Center offers instruction in foil and epee at all levels. Our coaches have extensive experience at both the national and international levels and are experienced in developing and fostering talent in every student, regardless of their background.

Orange Coast Division Tournaments
January 1, 2026
SCFC hosts a series of Orange Coast Division sanctioned foil tournaments this season. These include mixed foil events in the following age categories: Youth-12, Youth-14, Senior and Veteran. This coming season, we are adding some epee events to the Sunday tournaments.
Our sanctioned events start up again in September. Our first SCFC Open Foil Circuit event of this season will be held on Friday, September 5. Check-in is at 6:30pm and the unsanctioned tournament is open to any fencer, regardless of experience level, age or club.
Our next Division sanctioned tournament will be held at the Center on Sunday, February 8. Consult AskFred.net for more details:

SCFC reopens from Winter Break
Monday, January 5

The Center will be closing on Monday, December 22, in observance of our Winter Break. We will be reopening on Monday, January 5.

2026 Mary Rafanelli RYC/RJCC

SCFC will be hosting the upcoming 2026 South Coast Mary Rafanelli RYC/RJCC regional competition. This tournament will be held over January 17-19 (MLK holiday weekend) at the Pasadena Convention Center (Main Ballroom and Hall C).
