At South Coast Fencing Center, we invite students to partake in the incredible sport of fencing. Our programs are designed for all experience levels, here our fencers partake in weekly training and friendly bouts. For those first time fencers we’ll readily show you how to use a foil and quickly get started in the fun!
1st Class is Free!
A 1 hour free session is currently being offered to anyone interested! Gear will be provided for the experience by the facility for this experience! Interested participants may attend a single session in one of our offered classes. Please contact the facility to inquire more if you are interested in the opportunity.

Our Background & Philosophy
The South Coast Fencing Center is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 with the goal of providing an extraordinary training experience in a positive and focused learning environment. The Center offers instruction in foil and epee at all levels. Our coaches have extensive experience at both the national and international levels and are experienced in developing and fostering talent in every student, regardless of their background.

Orange Coast Division Tournaments
October 2, 2026
SCFC hosts a series of Orange Coast Division sanctioned foil tournaments this season. These include mixed foil events in the following age categories: Youth-12, Youth-14, Senior and Veteran as well as Senior and Veteran mixed epee events.
Our sanctioned events run from September through June of each season, as do our SCFC unsanctioned Circuit competitions.
SCFC also hosts a series of unsanctioned tournaments, designed to give fencers an opportunity to develop their skills in a relaxed and positive environment. This SCFC Circuit Challenges are held monthly and require no pre-registration. Our Open Foil Circuits are generally held on the first Saturday of each month. Check-in is at 11am and the unsanctioned tournament is open to any fencer, regardless of experience level, age or club.

SCFC hosts the 2027 South Coast Mary Rafanelli RYC/RJCC
October 1, 2026
The Center will be hosting the 2027 South Coast Mary Rafanelli RYC/RJCC regional competition this season over the weekend of March 12-14, 2027. The tournament will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center in their Exhibition Halls and Main Ballroom. Registration is now open on the USA Fencing tournament portal.
Events include Youth 8, Youth 10, Youth 12, Youth 14, Cadet and Junior in all weapons as well as Para events. Events are capped and fencers will be added to a waiting list once each event reaches that capacity.
SCFC Winter Camp registration is now open

SCFC will be holding our annual Winter Camp and registration is now open. To reserve your spot, please email our Front Desk.
This season, our Winter Camp will run from Monday, December 28, through Wednesday, December 30 from 9:30am to 5pm daily. Students are encourage to register for the full camp but can also drop in for a daily rate.
This camp is open to anyone age 10 and up with previous foil experience.
